Steam Trains this Bank Holiday Weekend
Kilmersdon sits outside the shed, a warming fire having been lit ready for services this weekend.

Callum Willcox took this great footage of visiting Peckett 0-4-0ST ‘Kilmersdon’ giving passenger rides in the glorious sunshine on 6th April 2015.

Blue skies and blue locomotive today, as Peckett 0-4-0ST ‘Kilmersdon’ is at work on passenger trains for the first services of 2015. The SS Great Britain and New Cut branches are in operation, come down to the docks for a ride!
Steam trains running this Easter Weekend!
It’s the first BHR operating weekend of the year, with 3 days of steam-hauled train rides planned.

Sunday 5th April
Monday 6th April.
Visiting Bristol-built Peckett 0-4-0st ‘Kilmersdon’ will be providing motive power.

‘Kilmersdon’ was built by Peckett in 1929 and numbered 1788. It worked at the NCB’s Kilmersdon Colliery in Somerset and now belongs to the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust.
She has previously visited the BHR and worked photo charters, and was a former stablemate of ‘Portbury’ and ‘Henbury’ at Radstock.
Chocolate Path Closed for 4 Weeks
Please note that the Chocolate Path (alongside the A Bond branch line and New Cut) will be closed from 9th Feb 2015 for 4 weeks.

The Xmas steam up event was a success, with all tickets selling out. Rich Skuse and Zoe Robinson were among the lucky people to try their hand at driving ‘Portbury’ and the Steam Crane.

Helston Railway returns, and Christmas is around the corner…
It’s the first day of the Xmas Steam Up weekends tomorrow, so Portbury and the Fairbairn Steam Crane should be in action on the dockside.
This week, the lovely people from the Helston Railway in Cornwall have been back for more rail and sleepers. Here they are loading up (Photo from the Helston Railway Facebook page, click the link for more).
End of Season and Farewell
On the last day, M Shed’s waterborne fleet (Mayflower, John King and Pyronaut) went out on a cruise around the harbour, followed by all 3 and Portbury sounding off to say goodbye to a BIM/M Shed volunteer who sadly passed away this year.

On the Friday before, Portbury and one of the electric cranes were used to deliver a model ship to the SS Great Britain.
Last Operating Weekend of 2014
This Saturday and Sunday are the last two days of operation on the BHR for the 2014 season, and possibly the last services to travel to Butterfly Junction in its present form before the remodelling in anticipation of the Metrobus route construction.
